Fluke will build on PanGottic’s research into Heath Robinson contraptions, fusing bespoke, handcrafted inventions with digital and remote programming; exploring the themes of risk and unpredictability by literally handing control over to the audience.
Fluke is a small to mid-scale, non-verbal, outdoor show featuring three juggler/performers, one of whom will also provide live percussive accompaniment. Each performer will operate a mobile ‘contraption deck’. The decks will feature sprung systems to catapult objects, and remote digital technology, allowing the performers and audience to activate them from a distance and on demand. Fluke will expose what happens when a trick goes wrong or is unpredictable, building narratives around this to delve into the notion of risk versus reward, and pushing the boundaries of how much risk an audience can bear or be willing to create.
As with all of PanGottic’s work, this show will be aimed at family audiences, with wide appeal among children and adults alike. The style of our work is highly visual and accessible for all, regardless of age, nationality or ethnicity.
