Kallo Collective is an award-winning, up-and-coming physical theatre and contemporary circus company. The company focuses on augmenting and evolving the disciplines of physical theatre, circus and especially clowning. The Collective was founded by Finns Jenni Kallo and Sampo Kurppa, and New Zealander Thomas Monckton after meeting in Paris during
their training at the physical theatre school of Jacques Lecoq. The trio worked together in other companies, developing their communal sense of theatre-style before forming Kallo Collective in 2009.
Kallo Collective has created and produced the original clown theatre shows; Members of Our Limbs, Echolalia, Miss Olga, Moving Stationery, Edgar’s Echo, Caterpillars, Only Bones v1.0 and Helga. These productions have met with great response from the public and critics alike. Kallo Collective is an adaptable and productive company with high quality and tour-friendly shows that appeal to a wide audience.
Chameleon is an ensemble visual and circus theatre show using the concept and visual elements of camouflague. The performance is a development of the 2015 award-winning demo-show of the same name. This is the largest show for Kallo Collective so far, involving 6 circus artists. Chameleon is due to premiere in May 2017.
